Diversity in Construction Contracting

In an effort to collect data relating to the significant loss in the number of contracts with minority and women businesses, the City of Grand Rapids has approved changes to its Equal Business Opportunities policies. These changes apply to companies wishing to contract with the City and require disclosure and updates on workforce data. In addition, companies registering under the new policies are assessed administrative costs capped at $100 per year. The City anticipates that the data produced by these policies will help evaluate the City’s social, economic, and environmental success.
